To telecast live results/trends on the counting day, this assignment was conducted using latest techniques and software, specially designed for the purpose. Upto the minute information was sent to NIC Server, set up at Doordarshan News office at Delhi by MDRA through SMS using special codes. MDRA's investigators were present at each of the counting centre to send latest trend/ result through SMS. This all gave a lead to DD News over all other news channels covering the live election results.

This success has been repeated several times in case of assembly elections in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, etc.
